Derek Drewry specializes in customary Maori woodcarving, often using native timbers such as Totara, Matai, and Kauri. 

Derek has worked alongside New Zealand's NZ Designer Artworx Ltd on projects such as restoration carvings for the Rotorua Airport Waharoa and creating unique taonga pieces for regional exhibitions.
